Early in my doctoral research, I had the rare opportunity to launch an entirely new line of investigation focused on Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs) and their role in shaping the infant gut microbiota. With no roadmap to follow, I developed novel laboratory methods from scratch and carved out a space for HMOs in our department’s research agenda.
What began as curiosity evolved into a career defined by connection and transformation. Over the last 15 years, I have published 20 peer-reviewed papers and navigated the complex landscapes of academia and industry across Brazil, Spain, and the United States.
My journey has taken me from the laboratory bench to advisory boards and medical affairs teams, transforming me into a specialist at bridging rigorous science with practical, high-impact application.
I founded Sialia Strategies to be a catalyst in the life sciences sector. Just as sialic acid (Neu5Ac) creates vital signals between cells, I view every project as an opportunity to connect the dots across complex research and people.
